Milestones Celebrated

Journey Kids Ministry has a desire to come along side each family to celebrate the various markers in their child’s life. We are in the process of providing six milestones which are key to a young child’s growth and development in Christ. We are here to provide support as we partner with you along the way. Here are the milestones to be celebrated:

Milestone One: Birth of a Child

New Parent Luncheon to meet Nursery & Toddler staff and other new parents

Each baby will receive a “Welcome to the Nursery” certificate upon first visit

Milestone Two: Baby/Child Dedication

Dedication of a baby is a lifestyle not an event

Parents pick a verse for their child

Receive dedication certificate and family picture

Special congregational blessing for each family and child

Milestone Three: Child’s First Bible Coming Fall 2012

All in-coming first graders will receive their own Bible

Parent & child will attend a “How to use my Bible” class with at least one parent

Milestone Four: Baptism In Process

Celebrating the single most important spiritual event in a person’s life

Offer discipleship class with at least one parent with child

Milestone Five: Preparing for Adolescence In Process

A seminar for parents giving them guidance on how to help their child navigate relevant issues, physical changes, identity in Christ and sex

How to lead your child to become a Christ-like teenager

Milestone Six: Promotion to Jr. High

Students celebrate this transition from Journey Kids to Youth Ministry by meeting the youth team with their parents
Students are invited to a special dinner with Preteen & Jr. High staff where they receive a youth Bible from Journey Kids Ministry
